Delivery Driver / Order Picker

Job Description

The successful candidate will deliver produce to our customers throughout HRM and surrounding area, ensuring they are happy with the service and final product, including but not limited to the following:

· Providing customer service by delivering produce, fruits, and vegetables, to commercial customers over established routes and accepting or making payments for goods

· Reporting any incidents or problems encountered, as well as suggest vehicle maintenance needed

· Operating and driving company vehicles, such as transport vans, safely and efficiently

· Helping load company vehicle at warehouse and unloading produce at customer destinations

· Communicating with head office when necessary

· Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspection of company vehicle

· Other duties as needed

Hourly Wage – 40-50 hours a week (Mon – Sat)

Medical and Dental Benefits available after 3 months of employment with 70% of Premiums paid by the employer

Ideal Candidate:

· Morning person – shift starts at 6am

· Commercial driving experience

· Basic math and cash handling skills

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Able to follow directions and be an effective team player

· Someone with a customer first mentality

· Known for your desire to work, honesty, and dependability

· Able to lift loads up to and including 50 lbs

· Able to sit for extended periods while driving company vehicle and bend, pick-up, walk, and carry produce to and from company vehicle. An average route consists of about 30 stops

· Clean criminal record

· Class 5 Driver’s license, Clean Driver’s abstract, and own vehicle (to get to and from work)

· Produce, fruits and vegetables, knowledge is an asset
